New animals entering the laboratory vivarium
Simera-TK laboratory has a separate vivarium building equipped according to the state regulations, the International Laboratory Quality Management System and the European Convention for the Protection of Vertebrate Animals Used for Experiments or Other Scientific Purposes. Last week our vivarium was replenished with new animals and is now ready for full operation.
The vivarium is required to test products that have direct contact with the human body to ensure that these products are safe. The more extensive the contact with a product or item has with the human body, the more detailed tests on animal models are conducted.
Testing on animal models (otherwise known as in vivo testing) may be required for safety testing:
- hygienic products
- perfume compositions
- cosmetic products
- personal care products
- medical devices
We approach the issue of such tests with the utmost responsibility avoiding inhumane and unethical treatment of experimental animals, avoiding excessive harm and cruelty to them.
The timeline for testing, which may involve laboratory animals, is determined on a case-by-case basis.
During a consultation with our experts, you can determine if your products require testing and get an estimated timeline.
